Don't Double Book Me is a calendar synchronization service that connects to your Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook accounts to reserve time between your calendars, ensuring your schedule is conflict-free without sharing your sensitive event details. It's important to us that you know we collect information from you in the process of providing this service, and we are committed to ensuring you understand how this information is used.
Our Privacy Policy explains:
When you sign up to use our service, you authenticate through Google or Microsoft OAuth. Through this process, we collect:
To provide the synchronization service, we store limited metadata about your calendars, including calendar names, time zones, and access roles. We also store your sync configuration preferences (such as which calendars to sync, visibility settings, and working hours).
During synchronization, we access event data from your source calendars — including titles, times, attendees, recurrence rules, and other event properties — to create corresponding placeholder events in your destination calendars. We do not store your event details in our database. Event data is read from your calendar provider's API, processed in memory to create or update placeholder events, and is not persisted on our servers.
This data is used solely to perform calendar synchronization according to your configured preferences. We do not use your calendar data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than providing the Service.
When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer identifier, subscription details, and payment method identifier on our servers. We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
We use the information that we collect to provide, maintain, protect and improve our services, to develop new services, and to protect Don't Double Book Me and our users. Specifically:
We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than what is set out in this Privacy Policy.
We process your information on our servers located in the United States. Your data may be collected and processed outside the country where you live.
Don't Double Book Me's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google calendar data to provide and improve the calendar synchronization service. We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements or sell Google user data to third parties.
We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
If Don't Double Book Me is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, we will continue to ensure the confidentiality of any personal information and give affected users notice before personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
If you are part of a team account, the team owner may enforce event visibility settings that apply to your calendar syncs. The only information visible to team owners is the email address you used to join the team. Team owners cannot see your other connected accounts, your calendars, your sync configurations, or any of your calendar event data.
We maintain an email suppression list to manage delivery. If an email to your address permanently bounces or you report it as spam, your email address is added to our suppression list to prevent further delivery attempts. Temporary (soft) bounce suppressions are automatically cleared after one week. You may contact us to have your email address removed from the suppression list.
We work hard to protect Don't Double Book Me and our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of information we hold. In particular:
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you close your account:
Server logs and error monitoring data are retained according to our infrastructure providers' standard retention schedules and are not linked to your account after deletion.
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, please contact us.
Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect, so that you can make meaningful choices about how it is used.
You may freely browse our website without submitting your personal information. You can also freely browse our website with your cookies disabled, but note that our website may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.
You can manage your calendar connections at any time from your account settings. Disconnecting a calendar provider will revoke our access to that provider's data and stop all syncs using that connection.
Our Privacy Policy applies to all of the services offered by Don't Double Book Me and its affiliates.
Our Privacy Policy does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, including Google, Microsoft, or Stripe. Their handling of your data is governed by their respective privacy policies.
